We don't need better algorithms
we don't need 'a better algorithm' we need 'better distribution'
Don't expect a revolution that makes Big Tech change their ways, expect a revolution that cuts them off completely.
We need federated distribution platforms, a simple subscription system, and feeds that show who you're following and (optional) reposts from friends.
The closest we can get to this is RSS feeds, but it's only a matter of time before those are phased out too. Then there is Discord, but that is more for private chats than content streams
